New Staff - December 2022

Community Foundation Welcomes New Staff

The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County welcomed two new staff members in December, growing the team to nine. Amanda Kavars is the Chief Community Partner for Program and Nonprofit Relations, and Carol Kosisko is the Community Partner for Donor Relations.

Amanda Kavars, Chief Community Partner for Program and Nonprofit Relations, oversees and manages the grantmaking processes and works with volunteers on the related committees. She works side-by-side with nonprofit organizations serving Muncie and Delaware County to build strong relationships and help create lasting change.

Her professional background within the community includes grant writing, project management, event coordination, and communication. She is continually impressed by Muncie and Delaware County’s ability to build a successful plan to achieve a shared vision. She is delighted to be a part of a community full of people with big hearts working together to make great things happen.

Amanda is a Minnesota native but has been part of the Muncie and Delaware County community since 2006. She and her family enjoy hiking area trails, exploring the state parks, and traveling nationally and internationally.

Carol Kosisko, Community Partner for Donor Relations, partners with donors and potential donors of The Community Foundation, focusing on stewardship to grow the assets of The Community Foundation to help meet the needs of the community.

Her professional background within the community includes extensive experience in donor and alumni relations and stewardship, event coordination, and communication. She is inspired by the philanthropic efforts of this community. She is excited to be a part of The Community Foundation and work with like-minded community members to enhance the quality of life for residents of Muncie and Delaware County.

Carol is a Ball State University graduate and has been part of the Muncie and Delaware County community since 1983. She and her husband enjoy reading and assisting local animal rescues in finding pets forever homes.

Since 2015, the Foundation staff has grown from five employees to nine. This growth in personnel aligns with a 50 percent increase in grantmaking and asset growth of more than $30 million over the same period. This is only possible through strong relationship-building with nonprofit organizations doing good work in the community and with donors who support the work of The Community Foundation. Earlier this year, staff titles were updated to reflect the focus on relationships with donors, nonprofit organizations, and others across the community.
