The streets of downtown Muncie were crowded with friends and neighbors on Thursday, June 6 – a special First Thursday celebration. Muncie’s Downtown businesses and creatives extend a special welcome during the annual Brink of Summer ArtsWalk.

Jill Jereb and Gary Dodson are building a legacy in their community through a planned gift at The Community Foundation.

Congratulations to the following scholarship recipients – Olivia Gick, Maggie Haney, Lucia Hart, Masun Moore, Hayley Reece, Ja’Niya Smith, Sicily Toole, John Hochstetler, Taj Isom, Emily Pressnall, Alexis Randle, Caidence Ryan, and Evan Zachary.

The Everlasting sculpture, installed in the building vestibule and lobby but visible even from outside the building, reuses glass removed from Minnetrista’s Catalyst sculpture.

The Albany Fund, in memory of the Frazee Family, was established in 2022. The fund will support programs and projects that benefit residents in the town of Albany, Indiana.

The Liberty Perry Selma Town Endowment Fund was established in 2012 to support programs and projects that benefit residents in Liberty Perry/Selma.

The Town of Yorktown Endowment Fund was established in 2000 to support programs and projects that benefit residents in the town of Yorktown, Indiana.

The Gaston Town Endowment Fund was established in 2012 to support programs and projects that benefit residents in the town of Gaston, Indiana.

Whitely Community Council serves and is a voice for the residents of the Whitely community on Muncie’s northeast side. In 2023, they received a grant to support core mission work and education initiatives.

The Community Foundation and arts advocates from the community visited the Kindness Matters Mural in Madison, Ind. during a series of site visits around southern Indiana.

The first donors to The Community Foundation made gifts with a lasting impact. Today, an investment committee comprised of local volunteers sets goals and monitors the performance of investments.
