Scholarship Applications are Now Available

Delaware County high school seniors and current college students can apply for scholarships through Monday, February 26. The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County manages more than 50 scholarships. Scholarship awards totaling more than $200,000 benefit students each year. Students should visit DelawareCountyScholarships.com to begin their application.

WHO CAN APPLY?

Requirements vary from scholarship to scholarship. Most scholarships are available for high school seniors in Delaware County, Ind. Some scholarships are also available for current college students. These vary based on student major and enrollment.

HOW DO I APPLY?

Apply for scholarships from The Community Foundation at DelawareCountyScholarships.com. You’ll need to create an account and then begin your Universal Application. The Universal Application will then direct you to the scholarships you qualify for. You may need to complete extra tasks to submit your application.

WHAT DO I NEED TO APPLY?

Completing your application can take time. Get started early. It takes time to complete essays and other long-form questions. You’ll fill out an activity form that highlights your athletic, club, volunteer, employment, and other extracurricular activities. You’ll also need at least one letter of recommendation from a trusted adult. Another letter of recommendation is required for some scholarships. You may need to answer a question about your financial need. You will not have to submit any tax documentation to be eligible for scholarships.

WHERE DOES THE FUNDING COME FROM?

Donors establish scholarship funds along with the criteria used to determine the recipients. Scholarship awards are based on the size of the fund. Scholarship awards range from a one-time award of $500 to a four-year award of $5,000 per year.

WHEN WILL I KNOW IF I RECEIVED A SCHOLARSHIP?

Scholarship decisions are announced during April and May. Notifications are made by email and through your online application account. You will have to provide follow-up information to receive your award.

HOW DO I GET MY AWARD MONEY?

Scholarship payments are sent to your post-secondary education college or university. Funds can be used for any expenses incurred by the student to further their education. If your scholarship award from The Community Foundation, plus other awards, grants, or loans, exceeds your billed cost, the remaining funds will be made available to you through your school if they do not exceed the total expected cost of attendance.


Scholarship applications are now available for scholarships administered by The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County. High school seniors and current college students can visit DelawareCountyScholarships.com to apply. The application deadline is February 26, 2024. Students will be notified about scholarship awards by the end of April.

High school students applying for scholarships can contact their school counselor for support. For help with the online scholarship software, email scholarships@cfmdin.org.

The Community Foundation administers scholarships to support post-secondary education. Community-minded donors have established over 50 scholarship funds and set the criteria for the awards. Students participating in various activities, with a wide range of grade-point averages, from schools across Delaware County are eligible to apply. Awards vary by scholarship.

The Community Foundation utilizes online scholarship application software. After completing an initial questionnaire, students will be directed to the applicable scholarships.
