Community Foundation Scholarship Awards

The Community Foundation Announces 2023 Scholarship Recipients

Congratulations to the following scholarship recipients –

Kadence Aikin, a senior at Daleville Jr./Sr. High School, is a recipient of the Michele Barnhart Hires Scholarship. Kadence plans to study Nursing at Ivy Tech Community College. She is the daughter of Laura Wright and Christopher Aikin.

Kingston Browning, a senior at Wes-Del High School, is a recipient of the Zach Greenwalt Scholarship. Kingston plans to study Exercise Science at Ball State University. He is the son of Justin and Rachel Browning.

Maela Cole, a senior at Muncie Central High School, is a recipient of the Muncie Southside Spirit Scholarship. Maela plans to study English Education with a minor in Women's and Gender Studies, and a license in Gifted and Talented Education at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Angie Lance.

Kyson Craycraft, a senior at Wapahani High School, is a recipient of the Sue Harris Unsung Hero Scholarship. Kyson plans to study Secondary Education, Science, at Ivy Tech Community College. He is the son of Matt Craycraft and Andi Craycraft.

Emma Day, a senior at Yorktown High School, is a recipient of the Robert and Wanda McKibben Scholarship. Emma plans to study Business Analytics and Information Management at Purdue University. She is the daughter of Chris and Catherine Day.

Kaitie Denney, a senior at Daleville Jr./Sr. High School, is a recipient of the Arthur D. and Josephine M. Robling Scholarship and the Gary W. Addison Scholarship. Kaitie plans to study Elementary Education at Ivy Tech Community College. She is the daughter of Herb and Mary Denney.

Missy Riegle, a senior at the Indiana Academy  for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities, is a recipient of the Arthur D. and Josephine M. Robling Scholarship. Missy plans to study Engineering at Purdue University. She is the daughter of Shannon Riegle and Helen Riegle.

Logan Walker, a senior at Cowan Jr./Sr. High School, is a recipient of the Max V. and Nellie Cathrine Creviston Scholarship and the Murray's Jewelers Scholarship. Logan plans to study Marketing at Indiana University. He is the son of Autumn White and TJ Walker.

The Community Foundation will announce scholarship recipients in the order that students accept awards.


The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. encourages philanthropy, assists donors in building an enduring source of charitable assets, and exercises leadership in directing resources to enhance the quality of life for residents of Muncie and Delaware County. Since 1985, community members and businesses have helped the Foundation grow our endowment to $83 million. Using the earnings on the endowment, the Foundation distributes grants to nonprofit organizations, including scholarships to support students through post-secondary education. To date, the Foundation has awarded nearly $65 million to enhance the quality of life of the residents of Muncie and Delaware County.
