The Town of Gaston Endowment Fund was established in 2012 to fund projects and programs that benefit the residents of the Town of Gaston and Harrison and Washington Townships. A committee comprised of area residents reviews applications each year and makes recommendations for grants to the Board of Directors of The Community Foundation. The existence of this fund guarantees a steady stream of income to fund worthwhile projects in the Gaston area for years to come.

Grant Procedures:

  • Gaston Grants Committee will review grant applications once each year.
  • The Gaston Town Endowment exists to benefit the Town of Gaston or Harrison and Washington Townships.
  • Applications may only be submitted by nonprofit organizations or a unit of government.
  • Grants will be awarded up to $2,500

The Foundation does not make grants to individuals and generally does not make grants for religious purposes, for covering budget deficits, for travel, for fundraising events, for endowments, or for projects normally the responsibility of a government agency. Grants are generally awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations.

Each grant awarded will be evaluated and a post-grant report is required for each grant received. A post-grant report, including financial/expenditure information, is required for the organization to remain in good standing and be eligible for future grant awards. All overdue post-grant reports must be received before the due date of any current grant applications for the committee to review the current application.
