There are many ways to give to The Community Foundation. While some people prefer the simplicity of cash, we are able to accept a variety of other gifts such as securities and real estate. Planned giving options, such as gifts through trusts and estate plans, are also an option for donors wishing to join our Legacy Society. Plus, all gifts receive the maximum tax deduction allowed by law.
There is no fund set up fee at the Foundation; however, there is an annual fee, depending on the type of fund established. The first step is determining what you would like to accomplish. It may be helpful to learn more about some of our existing funds.
The minimum to start a fund is $10,000 for most funds, $25,000 for scholarship funds. Fees vary by fund type but range from 1%-3%.

The Community Foundation serves the entire Muncie and Delaware County community by combining the resources of all donors to maximize the impact of even the most modest contributions. During the Foundation’s history, we have received gifts of $1 to gifts of more than $1 million. Gifts of any size make a difference and are always appreciated.
In fact, each year we see significantly more gifts under $100, than gifts over that mark. The size of the gift doesn’t matter when members of the community come together to support one another – we can all make big impact together.
Using the Foundation to give is personal, simple and flexible. Because the legal tools are already in place, and existing forms are available, a fund can be established - and all applicable tax advantages can be obtained - in a very short time.
