Lego Robotics help students work together and develop skills
Muncie Delaware Robotics received a $10,000 grant from the Quarterly Competitive Grants Program at The Community Foundation to equip the FIRST Lego League and Community Room in their facility located at Madjax.
Muncie Delaware Robotics has been working with high school students as part of the FIRST Robotics Challenge in our community. The addition of the FIRST Lego League expands the robotics challenges to younger students. It gives elementary and middle school students and their adult coaches the opportunity to work and create together to solve a common challenge.
The interest in the program was great and Muncie Delaware Robotics created two teams, the Planetary Gears and the Sprockets. Both teams used the new equipment and the Community Room to build and practice with their small robots. The grant covered the cost of tables, chairs, printers and computers.
