The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. would like to announce the availability of applications for the fifth annual David Sursa Leadership Award. As Founding President, David Sursa blazed the trail for The Community Foundation. His visionary leadership contributed greatly to the success of the Foundation and to the generous support it has provided to our community.
The award was established in memory of David Sursa's outstanding contribution to The Community Foundation. The annual program will reward, recognize and encourage extraordinary nonprofit leadership by a board member displaying the characteristics and commitment to community expressed by Mr. Sursa during his lifetime.
Any local nonprofit agency may nominate an individual for the David Sursa Leadership Award. Nominees must live or work in Delaware County and his/her service must benefit Delaware County. Current board members of The Foundation are not eligible for nomination. The recipient will be recognized at The Foundation's Annual Meeting in May and a $1,000 grant will be made, in the recipient's honor, to the nominating organization. Nominations must be received no later than March 31, 2010.
