The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County hasn't quite gotten the idea behind having a birthday party. You're supposed to collect the gifts on the big day, not give them away. The local foundation has decided to give $25,000 away to four local non-profits, not only to celebrate The Community Foundation's 25th anniversary, but to honor the local non-profits as well.
"We're celebrating our anniversary with the whole community and we really wanted to give a formal thank you to our community agencies for what they're doing in the area," said Roni Johnson, president of the Foundation. "We don't even realize how hard they're working in the trenches... This is a chance for us to say thank you for what they're doing and it's a chance for their endowments to grow."
On May 20, the foundation will host a 25th anniversary luncheon to honor their quarter-century in East Central Indiana. (Click here to read the complete news article.)
