Kids Care, Kids Share

Published Tuesday, April 15, 2008 by Eunice Whitlock

A group of local children celebrates the holiday season as they learn more about philanthropy. These children, who participate in projects to raise money for the Kidaid Fund at The Community Foundation, were surprised by a visit from Santa at their Christmas party. Santa arrived with an empty bag and spoke with the kids about kindness and how important it is to help others. Santa's bag was soon bursting at the seams as kids filled it with toys and gifts for less fortunate children in the community. The toys were taken to Cornerstone Center for the Arts' "Candy Cane Lane" for distribution to local children. Through the Candy Cane Lane project, over 650 children benefitted from the generosity of others. In this case, the generosity of other children!
