Sursa Leadership Award Recipient Announced

What began as a summer activities program in Mary Dollison's home in 1987 has expanded into an organization that provides learning and enrichment experiences for 700 students annually. The Community Foundation congratulates Mary Dollison for her achievements in building academic proficiency, creating cultural opportunities and serving as a model of community leadership.

For her two decades of service to area youth, The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. is proud to recognize Mary Dollison, co-founder of Motivate Our Minds, Inc., as the 2007 recipient of the David Sursa Leadership Award.

As Founding President, David Sursa blazed the trail for The Community Foundation. His vision contributed greatly to the success of the Foundation and to the generous support it has provided to our community since the Foundation's inception in 1985.

In his honor, the Foundation has established The David Sursa Leadership Award. The award is given annually to recognize and encourage extraordinary leadership by a nonprofit board member displaying the characteristics and commitment to the community expressed by David Sursa during his lifetime.
