
Cooking Christmas dinner for 400 neighbors will be a lot easier next year after Bob and Stacy Ball move their food-prep operations into a newly rehabbed kitchen at 300 N. Madison St. in Muncie. Until then, the volunteer crew at Blood-N-Fire ministry will work alongside the construction area and somehow serve hot meals every Saturday at 5 p.m. to residents of the McKinley, East Central and Gilbert historic districts.

As a member of the grassroots “Friends of Tuhey Pool”
organization, Gary Demaree needed no special incentive to donate to the
Foundation fund that supports revitalization to the downtown landmark. “We see
the pool as a community asset,” says Gary, speaking for his colleagues. Still,
when an opportunity came along that doubled his contribution and its impact,
Gary championed the idea. “My gift went to its intended purpose—the
redevelopment of Tuhey Pool—and then Ball Brothers Foundation matched my
donation, dollar for dollar, so the money could accomplish even more in the

The following Robert P. Bell grants totaling $1,480 have been awarded to local teachers for the fourth and final grant cycle of the 2010-2011 academic year. It is estimated that over 400 Delaware County students will benefit from these grants.
