Scholarships 2006

Sarah E. Adams Scholarship
Kasey Ann Tobias, a graduate of Delta High School, is the 2006 recipient of the Sarah E. Adams Scholarship.

Awarded to a member of a Delaware County High School girls’ golf team who has displayed good citizenship and a positive attitude for life, this scholarship is for use while attending an accredited college or university in the State of Indiana.

Tobias, the daughter of Kevin and Lisa Tobias, plans to study nursing at Ball State University.

Michael Brodhead Scholarship
Kelsey Jo Koch, a graduate of Higher Ground Academy, is the 2006 recipient of the Michael Brodhead Scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded to a Delaware County college-bound senior who has overcome a physical disability while achieving a high level of academics and participating in other activities outside the classroom.

Koch, the daughter of Tracy and Tammy Koch, plans to study biology at IUPUI.

Creviston Scholarship
Christina Collins, a graduate of Cowan High School, is this year’s recipient of the Creviston Scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded to a graduate of Cowan High School who wishes to attend a post-high school institution.

Collins, the daughter of Richard Collins and Pamela Collins, plans to study photojournalism at Ball State University.

Delaware Community Schools Scholarship
Sean Hays is the 2006 recipient of the Delaware Community Schools Scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded to a senior at Delta High School who has given evidence of scholarship, diligence, goals, and citizenship conclusive to successful educational goals and productive leadership in the community. The recipient may elect to attend any recognized institute/school of post-high school studies.

Hays is the son of Myra Hays Fraley and Russell Hays. He plans to study political science at Ball State University.

Grace Maring Scholarships
Samantha Billiter, Joshua Johnson, and Danielle Triplett are the 2006 recipients of the Grace Maring Scholarships.

Billiter plans to study library services at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Brad and Terry Stanley and Dennis Billiter.

Johnson plans to study music technology and computer science at Ball State University. He is the son of Sheila Johnson and Arlan Johnson.

Triplett plans to study biology at Purdue University. She is the daughter of Nannette Triplett and Douglas Triplett.

These scholarships are awarded to Wapahani High School students residing in Perry Township who plan to attend any recognized post-high school institution.

Jon Hunter Scholarships
Natalie Graham and Mike Mosier are the 2006 recipients of the Jon Hunter Scholarships.

Graham is the daughter of the late Larry Graham and Annell Graham. She plans to study visual communications at Ball State University.

Mosier is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mike Mosier. He plans to study biology at Florida Gulf Coast University.

These scholarships were established by the family of the late Jon Hunter and are awarded to graduates of Wes-Del High School. Recipients must demonstrate love and dedication to their sport and possess high moral character.

McDonald’s Restaurants of Delaware and Madison Counties Scholarships
Six students are the 2006 recipients of the McDonald’s Restaurants of Delaware and Madison Counties Scholarships.

  • Thomas Brown plans to continue his studies at Purdue Institute of Technology.
  • Alyssa Brumback, a graduate of Yorktown High School, is the daughter of Michael and Kimberly Brumback. She plans to study genetics as a freshman at Ball State University.
  • Carly Humphrey, a graduate of Delta High School, is the daughter of Ed and Connie Humphrey. She plans to attend Indiana University.
  • Jacob Miller plans to continue his studies at IUPUI.
  • Heather Turner, a graduate of Delta High School, is the daughter of Bruce and Leslie Turner. She plans to study glass blowing or French as a freshman at Anderson University.
  • Jennifer Sweazy, a graduate of Anderson Highland High School, is the daughter of Steve and Dondeana Sweazy. She plans to study journalism as a freshman at Ball State University.

Awarded from the Robert and Beverly Terhune Fund, these scholarships are given to employees of the Terhune McDonald’s restaurants in Delaware or Madison Counties.

Rozelle-Camplin Scholarships
Kirsten Bedell and Matthew Timmons, graduates of Daleville High School, are the 2006 recipients of the Rozelle-Camplin Scholarships.

Bedell, the daughter of Phillip E. Bedell and Mary K. Bedell, plans to study art education and missions at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Timmons, the son of Ben and Paula Timmons, plans to study chemical engineering at Tri-State University.

These scholarships are awarded to graduates of Daleville High School. Selection is based on scholarship, community service, citizenship and participation in school activities.

Wingate Scholarship
Danielle Reason, a graduate of Muncie Central High School, is the 2006 recipient of the Wilfred W. Wingate Scholarship.

This scholarship is awarded to a junior or senior nursing student at Ball State University.

Recipients must have graduated from a Delaware County High School and preference is given to those students who intend to practice their profession in Delaware County.

Reason, the daughter of Thomas and Terry Reason, plans to continue her study of nursing at Ball State University.

Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships
Samuel Hiatt and Kyle Holt are this year's recipients of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarships.

Scholarships are awarded to Delaware County residents who will have graduated by the end of June 2006 with a diploma from an accredited Delaware County high school and who have been accepted to pursue a full-time baccalaureate course of study beginning in the Fall of 2006 at an accredited public or private college or university in Indiana. Consideration is given to student activities and achievements, community and civic service, academic ability and potential for leadership.

Hiatt, the son of Jeffrey and Regina Hiatt, is a graduate of Muncie Central High School. He plans to study pharmacy at Butler University.

Holt, the son of Kevin and Sheila Holt, is a graduate of Muncie Southside High School. He plans to study Biblical literature at Indiana Wesleyan University.

Community Foundation Scholarships
Twenty-one students are the 2006 recipients of The Community Foundation Scholarships:

Erin Bantz of Burris Laboratory School plans to study political science and communications at Saint Mary’s College. She is the daughter of Michael and Diana Bantz.

Luke Beasley of Muncie Central High School plans to attend DePauw University. He is the son of Robert Beasley and Beth Peckinpaugh Beasley.

Austin Bristow of Wes-Del High School plans to study entrepreneurship and marketing at Indiana University. He is the son of Mike and Jan Bristow.

Robert Caylor of Delta High School plans to study engineering at Purdue University. He is the son of Michael Caylor and June Caylor.

Bryant Cook of Wapahani High School plans to attend Indiana-Purdue University in Ft. Wayne. He is the son of Bryan and Sharyl Cook.

Ian Tracy Cross of the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and the Humanities plans to study history at Earlham College. He is the son of Dr. Tracy Cross and Jennifer Cross.

Joy Ellcessor of Delta High School plans to study music education at Indiana Wesleyan University. She is the daughter of Rev. Mark Ellcessor and Lisa Ellcessor.

Joshua Fortriede of Delta High School plans to study biochemistry and cellular/molecular biology at Ball State University. He is the son of Daniel and Jeanne Fortriede.

Brian Hathaway of Muncie Central High School plans to study mathematics and economics at Northwestern University. He is the son of Jeff and Jeanette Hathaway.

Alayna Huffman of Wes-Del High School plans to study social studies education at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Brian and Tyann Huffman.

Whitney Jones of Muncie Southside High School plans to study wildlife and zoology at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Patricia Bronnenberg.

Rachel King of Cowan High School plans to study biochemistry and pre-dentistry at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Brett and Joyce King.

Erin Kischuk of Delta School plans to study biochemistry at Purdue University. She is the daughter of Kathleen Elliott and Richard Kischuk.

Kassandra McCorkhill of Muncie Southside High School plans to study veterinary medicine at Purdue University. She is the daughter of David and Annette McCorkhill.

Samuel McIntire of Wapahani High School plans to study pharmacy at Ball State University. He is the son of Denise and Greg McIntire.

Ethan Morrical of Yorktown High School plans to study political science/pre-law and pre-medicine at Hope College. He is the son of Daryl and Linda Morrical.

Dan Quinn of Yorktown High School plans to study business at Indiana University. He is the son of Dan and Karen Quinn.

Corey Ragland of Muncie Southside High School plans to study chemical engineering at Purdue University. He is the son of Keith and Tammy Ragland.

Sylvie Rousseau of Yorktown High School plans to study pre-medicine at Stanford University. She is the daughter of Steve and Maria Rousseau.

Whitney Ruble of Muncie Central High School plans to study journalism at Ball State University. She is the daughter of Rick and Sally Ruble.

Evan Tomlinson of Daleville High School plans to study business process management at Indiana University. He is the son of Gary and Teresa Tomlinson.
