25th Anniversary Celebration

At the celebration luncheon on May 20, 2010, at the Horizon Convention Center, the Foundation originally planned to award $25,000 to four of the endowed agency funds.  Due to the overwhelming sponsorship support from area businesses and individual donors, two additional surprise grants were given for a total of $28,000.....and the winners are:

A Better Way Services - $10,000

Motivate Our Minds - $7,500

Beyond I Can - $5,000

Youth Opportunity Center - $2,500

Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) - $1,500

Muncie Civic Theatre - $1,500

The Community Foundation would like to thank the businesses and individuals who generously sponsored our event and made the grants possible!

Acorn Society

A gift that grows with time.

Acorn Funds are one of the best ways to invest in the future of our community. Through regular contributions, these endowments grow in much the same way that retirement funds do. For many, this is a much more realistic way to reach the $10,000 minimum required to establish an endowment fund. They’re also a tax-deductible way to ensure your charitable gifts last forever.

An Acorn Fund must begin with an initial donation of $1,000. The fund can be named for a family member, an organization, or any number of causes. Donors then make regular, tax-deductible contributions for any amount at any time. When contributions reach $10,000, the Acorn Fund becomes a mighty oak and a regular grant-making fund of The Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County, Inc.

By establishing an Acorn Fund within The Community Foundation, you create a vehicle for perpetual giving to organizations important to you. Your wishes will be carried out during your lifetime and beyond. Over time your Acorn Fund will make a positive difference for many people and organizations in our community.
