25th Anniversary Celebration

At the celebration luncheon on May 20, 2010, at the Horizon Convention Center, the Foundation originally planned to award $25,000 to four of the endowed agency funds.  Due to the overwhelming sponsorship support from area businesses and individual donors, two additional surprise grants were given for a total of $28,000.....and the winners are:

A Better Way Services - $10,000

Motivate Our Minds - $7,500

Beyond I Can - $5,000

Youth Opportunity Center - $2,500

Animal Rescue Fund (ARF) - $1,500

Muncie Civic Theatre - $1,500

  • 2010 3rd Quarter Competitive Grants Awarded

    The Community Foundation of Muncie and Delaware County, Inc. has announced that 10 grants totaling $79,900 have been awarded to local nonprofit agencies and groups in the Foundation's third competitive grant cycle of 2010.

    The grants are awarded in five areas of interest:  arts and culture, human services, economic development, education, and community betterment.

  • The Star Press article: Everyone Wins at Community Foundation Celebration

    The big winner was A Better Way, which was awarded a $10,000 endowed grant. As a part of the festivities, area non-profits such as A Better Way competed for what was originally thought to be four endowed grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000 totaling $25,000.

    Given the increased financial support for the celebration grants from community businesses and area residents, the foundation created two additional grants, each for $1,500, awarded at the Thursday luncheon.

    Robert P. Bell grants totaling $2,258 have been awarded to local teachers for the fourth and final quarterly grant cycle of the 2009-2010 academic year.  It is estimated that over 1,500 Delaware County students will benefit from these grants.

    The following Robert P. Bell grants totaling $2,165 have been awarded to local teachers for the third grant cycle of the 2009-2010 academic year.  It is estimated that over 550 Delaware County students will benefit from these grants.
